U.S. Forces Conduct Targeted Strike On Iranian-Aligned Weapons Facility In Syria

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces carried out a precision strike today against a weapons storage facility used by an Iranian-aligned militia in Syria. The action comes in direct response to an attack on U.S. forces in the region just one day prior.

The targeted strike aimed to degrade the militia’s capacity to plan and execute future attacks on U.S. and Coalition forces engaged in counter-ISIS operations in the region.

“As previously stated, we will not tolerate any attacks on our personnel and coalition partners. We are committed to taking all necessary actions to ensure their protection,” said Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, CENTCOM commander.

Initial assessments indicate the strike successfully hit its target without causing civilian casualties. A battle damage evaluation is ongoing, and CENTCOM will provide further updates as information becomes available.
