The U.S. State Department has ended its support for rebuilding the Ukrainian energy grid, NBC News reported, citing "two USAID officials working on the agency’s Ukraine mission."
USAID is currently operating under the auspices of the State Department as the Department of Government Efficiency reviews its operations. The report comes in the wake of a disastrous diplomatic spat between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and President Donald Trump at the White House.
Zelensky arrived to sign mineral resources agreement, but the pair got into a shouting match during the meeting that led to the White House asking Zelensky to leave and Trump telling him to come back when he was "ready for peace."
