The Department of Justice (DOJ) has reportedly confirmed receipt of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s criminal referral regarding bombshell allegations that former President Barack Obama and his team sought to gin up intelligence to create a narrative of Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Fox News broke the story on Monday that the DOJ had acknowledged receipt of the referral. A DOJ spokesperson declined to comment when The Daily Wire reached out to confirm the development.

The report did not have any details on the exact contents of the referral. However, Gabbard and President Donald Trump have said Obama, former FBI Director James Comey, former CIA Director John Brennan, and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper were involved in the creation of the intelligence assessment released in early 2017.
